Staffordshire University

The Institute for Environment & Sustainability Research at Staffordshire University provides a wide range of expertise in environmental policy and management, science and sustainable development.

It’s a resource for research, consulting and training activities, and a recognised centre of excellence.

Harper Adams University CollegeHarper Adams University College

The Sustainable Technologies Network was set up in October 2004. Projects include:

  • Demonstration and testing of a biomass Combined Heat and Power Generator, developed by Talbott’s Heating Ltd.
  • Demonstration of photovoltaic roof arrays to create electricity from sunlight.
  • Biofuels as a fossil fuel alternative.
  • Digestate from anaerobic digestion of green waste as a farm nutrient source.

The University College is co-founder of the Bioenergy West Midlands Initiative, set up in collaboration with the Farming and Food Team to promote bioenergy in the region.

Keele UniversityKeele University

The Research Institute for the Environment, Physical Sciences and Applied Mathematics at Keele University has more than fifty academic staff, contract research staff and many postgraduate researchers.

Together, these departments bring experience and breadth of vision to bear on research problems to reach sustainable, renewable solutions. Principal research themes include sustainable technologies for supporting renewable clean energy.
